A representative of Market Surveillance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina attended the regular meeting of the Administrative Cooperation Group of market surveillance authorities of the European Union member states in the sector of Machinery (AdCo MD), held on 2nd - 3rd October 2024 in Tallinn, Estonia.
The meeting was attended by 26
representatives from 22 European countries, as well as representatives of the
European Commission, DG GROW (The Directorate General for Internal Market,
Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs) and other interested parties.
During the two-day meeting with
an extensive agenda, various issues dealt with by the inspection authorities of
the EU member states were discussed. Some member states presented specific cases
related to non-compliant machines that have caused injuries and even
fatalities.
The methods for resolving these
cases and the measures that are jointly undertaken in such cases were considered.
Amendments to several standards were presented, as well as implementation of
the new Machinery Regulation, which replaces the Machinery Directive, and the Guide
to the Machinery Regulation. Several joint machinery surveillance projects were
presented, whether they are currently being implemented or have been completed.
The AdCo MD meeting was evaluated
as very substantive and useful from the aspect of exchanging experiences and
acquiring new knowledge in the field of machinery safety surveillance.
