Surveillance of Toys Made Available on the Market Online and Offline was
held in January. During this event, participants showed great interest in
market surveillance of toys, which led to organization of the workshop as a
continuation of the training on this topic.
The objective of the workshop was
to improve knowledge of the applicable regulations in the field of toy safety
and their implementation in practice through presentations and exchange of
experiences with expert lecturers from the European Union. Additionally, the
workshop aimed to provide insight into the level of alignment of market
surveillance procedures in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the practices of the EU
Member States.
Ms Maureen Logghe from Belgium
and Ms Daniela Schachner from Austria shared their knowledge and extensive
experience in market surveillance of this product category with the
participants.
The participants were provided
with guidelines for further improvement of the toy market surveillance system by
interpreting the Explanatory Guidance Document for Toy Safety Directive and the
Technical Documentation Guidance Document for Toy Safety Directive, and through
practical examples and exercises.
Tools for risk assessment, search
and classification of chemicals were presented. In addition, test reports and
the correctness of technical documentation were analysed. Through numerous practical
examples, the experts introduced the participants to the challenges they may
encounter in their work, with special reference to the challenge posed by
products sold online.
