58th EMC AdCo group meeting was held on 8th – 9th October in Vienna. EMC AdCo group operates within the administrative cooperation of market surveillance authorities in the field of electromagnetic compatibility. A representative of Market Surveillance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina attended the meeting, since the EMC AdCo group, although founded within the EU, is also open to representatives of countries that are not members of the EU. This approach encourages cooperation and enables a wider exchange of experiences and improvement of market surveillance practices.

During the meeting, the
activities and results achieved in 2025 were discussed. Information was
exchanged about the product non-conformities identified through implementation
of the joint surveillance actions. Based on the experiences gained from these
actions, plans and recommendations for improvement of market surveillance
procedures and processes were considered.
It was highlighted that it is
necessary to find a way to achieve more effective market surveillance, given
the challenges posed by the sale of products via the internet and various
platforms where products are advertised and offered for sale. The challenges in
this area are numerous, and it is necessary to establish effective legal
mechanisms that will enhance procedures related to administrative controls, not
only to methods of sampling and inspection control of products.
The conclusion of the meeting was
that cooperation between market surveillance authorities
should be maintained and strengthened. An agreement was reached to continue
joint activities and to ensure active participation in them. Additionally, it
was emphasized that cooperation with customs authorities and with other
administrative cooperation groups dealing with aspects of electrical product
safety needs to be enhanced.
