Proactive market surveillance of thermal insulation products for buildings completed

During the period from 1st November 2021 to 10th February 2022, Market Surveillance Agency of BiH and market inspections of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republic of Srpska completed joint market surveillance of thermal insulation products for buildings.
This is one of the two construction product groups that were subject to surveillance under the Law on Construction Products in FBiH and the Law on Construction Products in RS, in accordance with the Annual market surveillance plan for 2021.

Objectives of the proactive surveillance of thermal insulation products for buildings were the surveillance of implementation of the Law on Construction Products in FBiH (Official Gazette of FBiH, 78/09) and the Law on Construction Products in RS (Official Gazette of RS, 5/12), as well as market monitoring and withdrawal of non-compliant products from the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the implementation of proactive surveillance, 6 inspection controls of thermal insulation products for buildings were conducted. Inspectors performed administrative control of documentation and visual inspection of products. In total, 6 types of thermal insulation products for buildings were controlled. It was found that 5 types of products (83%) were compliant with the laws, while the non-compliances were found in 1 type (17%).

The economic operator was ordered to remove the non-compliances in 1 type (119 m2) of thermal insulation products for buildings, and the economic operator did that. The non-compliances were the following: thermal insulation product for buildings did not have the appropriate conformity marking and the product was not accompanied by a declaration of conformity or a technical instruction.

Based on the results of proactive market surveillance activities, it can be concluded that most of the thermal insulation product for buildings on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina comply with the applicable regulations.
