A representative of Market Surveillance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina attended the 56th meeting of the Administrative Cooperation Group of market surveillance authorities of the European Union member states in the sector of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC AdCo), held on 9th – 10th October 2024 in Valencia.

The meeting was hosted by the
Spanish Ministry of Industry and Tourism - MINCOTUR. The meeting was attended
by 34 representatives of the market surveillance authorities from 23 European
countries. The participants presented current activities of the European Union
market surveillance authorities in the field of electromagnetic compatibility.
At the beginning of the meeting,
market surveillance in the host country was presented to the participants. After
that, the results of the 16th European Union joint campaign in the
field of electromagnetic compatibility: Surveillance of chargers for
electric bicycles, hoverboards and similar devices were presented, followed
by a short discussion. Plans for future campaigns that should be implemented in
2025 and 2026 were also discussed, as well as the preparation of documents
needed for their implementation.
Regarding the principles of
market surveillance according to the EMC Directive, inconsistencies in data
entry into the ICSMS system were discussed. As an example, the results of a mini
workshop were presented. 10 countries participated in the workshop, each of
which had a task to enter data for one product into the database and to analyse
the results of the entry. In addition, the IT tool Kibana was presented,
which is used for advanced analysis of statistical data and creation of
statistical reports. The results of a survey among the Member States on
cooperation with leading online stores and a survey on the number of controlled
samples in certain EU countries were also presented.
In the segment of reporting on
the results and activities of the Member States, the representative of Germany
presented his experiences in the control of online stores and the results of
the testing of vacuum cleaners.
During the part of the meeting
devoted to discussion of specific technical problems, the participants
discussed the shortcomings in the applicable harmonized standards, alternative
test methods and the proposal of the German Institute for Standardization to
change the standard for kitchen hoods, which was sent to the European Committee
for Electrotechnical Standardisation.
During the remaining part of the
meeting, the representative of the European Commission shared experiences from
the EUPCN meetings held in the meantime, and the representative of the RED AdCo
spoke about the results and the challenges that this AdCo group is currently
facing.
After a short organisational consultation, the
meeting was concluded.
