Market Surveillance Agency of Bosnia and
Herzegovina and market inspection authorities of the Federation of BiH,
Republic of Srpska and Brčko District of BiH have completed joint market
surveillance of electric hand-held blenders. This is one of the five groups of
electrical products covered by the Order on electrical equipment designed
for use within certain voltage limits (Official Gazette of BiH, 98/09) that
were subject to market surveillance in 2025.
The aim of the surveillance was to
determine whether the electric hand-held blenders that are available on the
market of Bosnia and Herzegovina are safe for consumers to use.
During the implementation of market
surveillance, a total of seven (7) inspection controls were carried out and electric
hand-held blenders found on the market were controlled. Inspectors performed
administrative and visual control of the products. Based on that, they selected
seven (7) samples for laboratory testing, due to the suspicion that these
products do not meet all the safety requirements that apply to them. Laboratory
analysis determined that 1 sample (14%) did not comply with the safety
requirements of the Order on electrical equipment designed for use
within certain voltage limits, and it poses a risk of injuries and fire for
consumers.
Risk assessment determined that this
product poses a medium risk to consumers, and measures were taken to eliminate
non-compliances on all devices of that type. The importer withdrew the
non-compliant products from the supply chain, brought them into compliance, and
then returned them to the market.
In total, the non-compliances were eliminated
in 24 hand-held blenders.
