During the period from September 2025 to March 2026, Market Surveillance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and market inspections of the BiH entities and Brčko District of BiH have carried out joint market surveillance of children's pushchairs (for children weighing up to 22 kg).

The main objective of the
surveillance activities was to determine whether the children's
pushchairs available on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina are safe for
children. Children’s pushchairs are considered to be safe if they meet the
requirements specified by the Law on General Product Safety (Official
Gazette of BiH, 102/09) and the standards BAS EN 1888-1+A1:2023 and
BAS EN 1888-2+A1:2024.
In order to determine whether the
children's pushchairs meet the prescribed safety requirements, 9 samples of
children's pushchairs were subjected to laboratory testing, administrative
verification of instructions for use and product marking, as well as visual
inspection of certain safety features.
The laboratory testing showed
that 7 out of the 9 models of children's pushchairs were not compliant with the
safety requirements specified by the standards BAS EN 1888-1+A1:2023 and
BAS EN 1888-2+A1:2024. As a result of the surveillance activities, 3 models
of children's pushchairs (total of 50 products) were withdrawn from the market and
destroyed, while economic operators removed the non-compliances in 4 models of
children's pushchairs (total of 361 products).
Based on the market surveillance
activities carried out in 2025, it can be concluded that the safety of
children's pushchairs available on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not
satisfactory.
