Latvia, as the host country, presented its market surveillance system in the introductory part of the meeting. Also, in this part of the meeting the agenda was adopted, as well as the report from the previous meeting, and an overview of the implementation of previously assigned tasks was presented.

After the introductory part, numerous documents and topics were discussed. In accordance with the adopted agenda, the participants discussed the following documents: guidelines for trampolines, food-imitating toys, drones, sports equipment, and guidelines for children's night lamps.

At this meeting, the Rules of Procedure of the Toys working group were adopted and a new chairman of the group was elected. After that, the activities of the CASP and JACOP 2026 joint actions were presented, which include:

·      PSA 3: Toys for children under 36 months (push and pull toys, riding toys, educational toys and musical toys).

·      PSA 4: Toys posing choking hazards (soft/plush toys, bath toys, rattles, plastic figures, stacking blocks, wooden toys and teethers).

·      PSA 6: Toy drones (indoor drones and drone-type flying toys, remote-controlled or motion-controlled toy drones intended for children under 14, drones and drone-type products with batteries, LEDs and plastic or metal components).

·      PSA 11: Food-imitating products (cosmetics, decorative items, toys and detergents).

·      JACOP PSA 3: Toy guns with projectiles (gel blasters, other projectile toys such as Nerf blasters, hard plastic balls and suction cap dart guns). 

One of the topics on the first day of the meeting was asbestos in sand toys, with the aim of reaching an agreement on the testing method. At the end of the first day, the participants attended presentations on the topics "Trampoline enclosure requirements" and "AI toys", and the mentioned topics were discussed afterwards.

On the second day of the meeting, second-hand toys, the risks not covered by the EN 71-1 standard, as well as soft toys with a removable speaker (smart speaker) were discussed. Opinions and experiences were exchanged about particular toys that are present on the market and that can potentially pose a risk for children, especially due to the presence of certain chemical substances.

At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Toys AdCo Group thanked all the participants for their attendance. Also, the date of the next meeting of the Toys AdCo Group, which will be held online, was determined.
