During the period from September to December 2025, Market Surveillance Agency of BiH and market inspections of the BiH entities and Brčko District of BiH have carried out joint market surveillance of soother holders.

The main objective of the surveillance was to
determine whether the soother holders that are available on the
market of Bosnia and Herzegovina are safe to use. Soother holders are safe if
they meet the requirements specified by the Law on General Product Safety
(Official Gazette of BiH, 102/09) and the standard BAS EN 12586+A1:2012.
In order to determine whether soother holders meet the
prescribed safety requirements, 8 samples of soother holders were subjected to
laboratory testing, administrative verification of consumer information on the
packaging, purchase information and instructions for use, as well as visual
inspection of certain safety features.
The laboratory testing revealed that 6 out of 8 tested
models of soother holders (75%) did not comply with the safety requirements
specified by the standard BAS EN 12586+A1:2012. Administrative non-compliances were eliminated in
4 models of soother holders (total of 1449 products). Two models of soother
holders (total of 26 products) were withdrawn from the market of Bosnia and
Herzegovina, because they posed a serious risk to consumers.
