During the period from 18th September 2025 to 8th June 2026, Market Surveillance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs, Republic Administration for Inspection Affairs and the Inspectorate of Brčko District of BiH have carried out proactive market surveillance of protective gloves against mechanical risks. This is one of the two product groups covered by the Order on personal protective equipment (Official Gazette of BiH, 75/10) that were subject to market surveillance in 2025.

Safety
requirements for protective gloves are provided for by the Order on personal
protective equipment and accompanying standards, so administrative checks
were carried out in accordance with these requirements.
The objectives
of proactive surveillance were to assess the state of the protective gloves
market in Bosnia and Herzegovina from a safety perspective, to remove from the
market any products that could pose a risk to users, to increase consumer
safety, and to raise awareness among importers and distributors about placing
safe products on the market.
During the
implementation of proactive surveillance, 11 inspection controls based on
administrative checks were carried out. A total of 9 models of protective
gloves against mechanical risks were inspected. Out of the total number of
products inspected, 1 model of protective gloves was compliant with the Order on Personal Protective Equipment. 8 models
(88,9%) of protective gloves were non-compliant (total of 7,076 products).
Economic
operators voluntarily brought 3 models of the non-compliant protective gloves
(total of 2,013 products) into compliance with the provisions of the Order
on Personal Protective Equipment. Also, the economic operators voluntarily
withdrew from the market 5 models of protective gloves in a total quantity of 5,063
products, of which 62 were destroyed.
