During the period from 1st October 2025 to 11th June 2026, Market Surveillance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs, Republic Administration for Inspection Affairs and the Inspectorate of Brčko District of BiH have carried out joint proactive market surveillance of protective and safety footwear.

Personal Protective Equipment and
accompanying standards. In accordance with these requirements, product
labelling and instructions for use were checked, and visual control of the
products was carried out.
The objectives of proactive
surveillance were to assess the state of the protective and safety footwear
market in Bosnia and Herzegovina from a safety perspective, to remove from the
market any products that could pose a risk to users, to increase consumer
safety, and to raise awareness among importers and distributors about placing
safe products on the market.
During the implementation of
proactive surveillance, 11 inspection controls were carried out. The controls
included checking the product labelling and instructions, as well as visual
control of the products. A total of 10 models of protective and safety footwear
were inspected. Non-compliances were found in 3 models (30%) of protective/safety
footwear, in a total quantity of 328 products.
Economic operators voluntarily
brought 1 model of the non-compliant protective/safety footwear (total of 106
products) into compliance with the provisions of the Order on Personal
Protective Equipment. Also, the economic operators voluntarily withdrew
from the market 2 models of protective gloves in a total quantity of 222
products.
