PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE WITHDRAWAL OF BABY WALKER „BUBU – SPACESHIP“



At the request of Market Surveillance Agency of BiH, the importer MAGMA B d.o.o, whose central office is situated in Sarajevo, issued the following public announcement:

„1.  Safety tests conducted in Slovenia indicated that baby walker „BUBU – SPACESHIP“ – grey; Item No. 12690112 (J-688AS); barcode: 3850314730530, country of origin: China; producer: Magma International Ltd., Hong Kong; importer: Magma d.d., Baštijanova 52a, Zagreb – is unsafe, and it poses serious risk to consumers.

Safety testing indicated that baby walker „BUBU – SPACESHIP“ does not comply with the safety requirements for avoiding falls down stairs, the height of the seat at the lowest position is not 180 mm (as requested), the product does not display all requested markings and the instruction manual is not complete. Therefore, the product poses a risk of injuries to children, due to falling from the baby walker, as Institut za varilstvo (Welding Institute) from Ljubljana, Slovenia confirmed.

Additional IMPORTANT NOTES:

-  The announcement refers only to the above mentioned product model.

-  Notice that, up to now, Magma has never received a consumer complaint concerning baby walker „BUBU – SPACESHIP.

2.     After Magma received the notification concerning the risk to consumers from State Inspectorate of the Republic of Croatia, the product was immediately withdrawn from the stores in the region (Croatia and Serbia). Disputable products were placed on the market in 2008 and 2009.  

The disputable product model has not been available in “Turbo Limač“ stores in Bosnia and Herzegovina since July 2009.

3.    Consumers can return baby walker „BUBU – SPACESHIP“ to any „Turbo Limač“ store in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and get a refund or another product in exchange. Notices clearly indicating recall information have been placed in all „Turbo Limač“ stores in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Consumers can submit their inquiries about the recall program by email:  customerservice@magma.hr .“
