Responsible and fair business

Products placed on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina must comply with prescribed safety requirements, and economic operators are responsible for ensuring that the products they place on the BiH market comply with those requirements.

All economic operators in BiH are required to act responsibly and in accordance with applicable legal regulations. Economic operators include manufacturers, authorized representatives, importers and distributors in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and their obligations differ depending on their role in the distribution network.

At the request of market surveillance authorities, economic operators must provide documents demonstrating that a product complies with the prescribed requirements (e.g. the declaration of conformity, test reports, etc.).

If it is established that a product does not comply with the regulatory requirements and that its non-compliance poses a risk to consumers, the inspection authorities in BiH shall order measures proportionate to the level of risk posed by the product.
