Unsafe products

Generally speaking, an unsafe product is any non-food consumer product that does not comply with the prescribed safety requirements and poses a risk to the health and life of people, their property and the environment.

In other words: a safe product is any product which, under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions of use including duration and, where applicable, putting into service, installation and maintenance requirements, does not present any risk or only the minimum risk compatible with the product's use, considered to be acceptable and consistent with a high level of protection of the safety and health of people.

There are a number of regulations that specify basic safety requirements for non-food consumer products.
