The representatives of Market Surveillance Agency of BiH held a meeting with the representatives of Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH, in order to enhance conducting of market surveillance activities in BiH and to strengthen cooperation. The meeting was held at the premises of Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH in Banjaluka, on April 8th, 2010.
The aim of the meeting was to determine further operational activities that will enable efficient execution of tasks in the area of market surveillance in BiH, through the exchange of information about products that are imported in BiH between the Agency and Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH.
At the meeting, the Agency and Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH agreed about the way of information exchange, which will allow more efficient identification of unsafe and noncompliant products that could be placed on the BiH market.
The regulations of the EU which, inter alia, regulate the duties and tasks of customs authorities and market surveillance authorities in terms of product safety controls upon import were also discussed at the meeting.
The meeting was evaluated as successful and useful.
