Proactive market surveillance of wood flooring products and parquets completed

During the period from 1st September to 31st December 2020, Market Surveillance Agency of BiH and market inspections of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republic of Srpska completed joint market surveillance of wood flooring products and parquets. Objectives of the proactive surveillance of wood flooring products and parquets were the surveillance of implementation of the Law on Construction Products in FBiH (Official Gazette of FBiH, 78/09) and the Law on Construction Products in RS (Official Gazette of RS, 5/12), as well as market monitoring, withdrawal of non-compliant products from the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina and upgrading of knowledge.

During the implementation of proactive surveillance, 6 types of wood flooring products and parquets were tested. Out of the total number of products tested, it was found that 1 type (17%) was compliant with the relevant laws, while the non-compliances were found in 5 types (83%) of products. Economic operators were ordered to remove the non-compliances in 5 types (368 m²) of wood flooring products and parquets, and the economic operators did that.

Based on the results of proactive market surveillance activities in 2020, it can be concluded that most of the wood flooring products and parquets placed on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina do not comply with the applicable regulations.
