Market Surveillance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to the knowledge of the notice of voluntary withdrawal from the market and recall from consumers belaying device "GriGri 2" Petzl (manufacturer from France), contacted the dealer operated by Petzl for Bosnia and Herzegovina Biz Sport Ltd. Sarajevo.

It was found that Belaying device with an assisted brake for climbing ropes of 8,9 to 11 mm, models D14 2O, D14 2G i D14 2B with the first five digits of the serial number between 10326 and 11136, representing a risk of injuries caused by falling from heights. The product poses a risk of injuries because, exerting excessive force on the handle of the device when it is fully open may damage it and causes it to remain stuck in the open position. When the handle is blocked in this position, the assisted braking effect of the device is disabled. This causes the device to operate in the same way as a traditional belaying device. When the device is used with the handle blocked in the open position, failure to control the braking side of the rope will increase the risk of an uncontrolled descent.

Authorized dealer of Petzl for Bosnia and Herzegovina Biz Sport Ltd. Sarajevo has informed the Agency that was put on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina and sold 3 (three) products "GriGri 2", and that he did recall from consumers and replacement of two (2) the product concerned.

Consumers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which establish to possess the relevant product, are advised to immediately stop using the same and to notify the Agency.
