PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT ON VOLUNTARY WITHDRAWAL AND RECALL OF BELKIN TUNEBASE DIRECT WITH HANDS-FREE, TUNEBASEFM WITH HANDS-FREE, AND TUNEBASEFM WITH CLEARSCAN



At the request of Market Surveillance Agency of BiH, lawyer's office representing Belkin Ltd. announces:

Belkin Ltd. has identified that a component of the TuneBase, the washer, can cause an electrical short circuit when plugged into a vehicle's cigarette lighter adapter. The washer is a circular, black, plastic unit situated at the tip of the TuneBase's cigarette lighter adapter. After a rigorous investigation, Belkin has determined that under certain conditions of heat, humidity and prolonged periods of power-on (e.g. when the TuneBase is left plugged in overnight), some units with the washer have shown potential to smoke or pose a risk of fire. Up to now, there have been no reports of injuries caused by using the above mentioned TuneBase devices.

While they believe this issue may be isolated to a limited number of units produced with this washer, Belkin places the safety of their consumers ahead of all other considerations and is conducting a voluntary withdrawal and recall of all TuneBase products purchased by consumers between April 1, 2009 and October 30, 2009.

The following Belkin TuneBase models are covered by the recall:

Please note the product packaging and product manual may have a slightly different model number. Refer to the actual product to find the correct model number.

If you purchased the affected products between April 1, 2009 and October 30, 2009 please:

- stop using the product immediately;

- PLEASE, CONTACT MACLINE D.O.O., AUTHORIZED BELKIN DISTRIBUTOR IN BiH (OBALA MAKA DIZDARA 3, 71000 SARAJEVO) OR CALL 033 550 985 TO PARICIPATE IN ITS TUNEBASE EXCHANGE PROGRAM;
