On May 19th 2010, Market Surveillance Agency of BiH received a notification from the representative of German Company Braun in BiH on the voluntary withdrawal and recall of all Braun Satin Pro and Braun Satin Hair Colour hairdryers produced during 2007 and 2008. No other hairdryers or appliances are affected, so consumers can continue to use them with confidence.

Braun confirmed that there is a small risk that the affected hairdryer may short-circuit, over-heat and start burning if left plugged in, in a very humid environment, even when switched off. Therefore, after confirming that they have an affected hairdryer, consumers are asked to immediately unplug the hairdryer and to not use it any further.

The Braun hairdryers being recalled have the Product Type number “3549” and Production Codes from “701” to “852”. The Product Type number is printed on the hairdryer handle, and the Production Code is printed on the inlet grid which can be found after removing the protection filter at the rear of the appliance.

To identify the Production Code, consumers should follow the three steps outlined below:

1. Identify the Product Type “3549” within the Type Panel printed on the handle.

2. Switch off and unplug the hairdryer and remove the Protection Filter at the rear of the hairdryer.

3. Identify the Production Code between “701” and “852” printed on the Inlet Grid (some DRY cleaning might be needed).

What should I do if I have identified that my individual Production Code is between “701” and “852”?

Consumers who have identified that their individual Production Code is between “701” and “852” should call the local service phone number 033 223 797 where they will receive further information on how to replace it.

Braun apologises for any inconvenience caused by this recall.
