09/08/2021
The aim of the market surveillance was to determine whether the electric shavers placed on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina are safe to use.
During the market surveillance, 9 inspection controls of electric shavers were conducted. Inspectors performed administrative and visual control of the products on the market and took 9 samples for laboratory testing on suspicion that they do not meet all the applicable safety requirements.
Laboratory tests showed that 3 samples (33%) did not comply with the safety requirements of the Order on electrical equipment designed for use within certain voltage limits and posed risk of fire and electric shock to consumers.
Risk assessment showed that 2 non-compliant products posed serious risk to consumers. Therefore, withdrawal from the market, recall from consumers and destruction of the non-compliant products were ordered, as well as the obligation to inform consumers about the risks posed by the products and how to return the affected products.
The non-compliances were removed in 1 model of the product and the product was returned to the market.
In total, 27 products were withdrawn from the market and destroyed, while the non-compliances were removed in 220 products.
