The aim of the round table, held on September 14th in Tivat (Montenegro), was to discuss the current situation and problems in the area of market surveillance in the Western Balkans and Turkey. Accordingly, the meeting was attended by representatives of the market surveillance institutions from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey.

During the discussion, the establishment of a regional RAPEX system for notification of dangerous products was defined as the key issue. It was agreed to discuss this and other important issues, such as review of authorities of different market surveillance bodies and coordination mechanisms, at the next meeting to be held in November 2010.

The round table was evaluated as useful for all participants, especially because of the opportunity to exchange experiences of countries in the region in this field.
