THE 1ST KICK-OFF CONFERENCE FOR IPA 2007 PROJECT “SAFETY INFRASTRUCTURE IN BIH” WAS HELD AT THE PREMISES OF THE EU DELEGATION TO BIH

The project team organized the first kick-off conference, held at the premises of the EU Delegation to BiH, on March 22nd 2010, at 10:00 a.m.
This IPA 2007 project, worth 1.7 million euros, was launched in November 2009, with the overall objective to further develop the quality/safety infrastructure in accordance with the provisions of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA), and to create an environment that will enable BiH to strengthen the international competitiveness and improve its economy.
Three components of the project were presented at the conference: technical regulations, conformity assessment and market surveillance in BiH. Mr. Dragan Milović, Assistant Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, gave a brief overview of the current situation in the field of technical regulations and conformity assessment in BiH. Ms. Lenka Kozić, Director of Market Surveillance Agency of BiH, presented the current situation in the field of market surveillance in BiH. Also, long-term experts responsible for the implementation of this project presented the content of the project, the activities and expected results.
Besides the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH and Market Surveillance Agency of BiH, which are the main beneficiaries of this project, the conference was attended by numerous representatives of other institutions in the field of quality and safety infrastructure in BiH.
