Market surveillance of children's pushchairs completed
01/21/2025
The main objective of the surveillance was to determine whether the children's pushchairs that are available on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina are safe for children. Children’s pushchairs are considered to be safe if they meet the requirements specified by the Law on General Product Safety (Official Gazette of BiH, 102/09) and the standard BAS EN1888-1+А1:2023.
In order to determine whether the children's pushchairs meet the prescribed safety requirements, 7 samples of children's pushchairs were subjected to laboratory testing, as well as to administrative verification of instructions for use, product marking and visual inspection of certain safety features.
The laboratory testing showed that none of the 7 models of children's pushchairs complied with the safety requirements specified by the standard BAS EN1888-1+А1:2023. As a result of the surveillance activities, 1 model of children's pushchairs was withdrawn from the market (total of 7 products), while economic operators removed the non-compliances in 6 models of children's pushchairs (total of 245 products).
Based on the market surveillance activities carried out in 2024, it can be concluded that the safety of children's pushchairs available on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not satisfactory.
