Proactive market surveillance of buoyant aids for swimming instruction completed

During the period from 1st July to 20th November 2020, proactive market surveillance of buoyant aids for swimming instruction was conducted. The surveillance was conducted through cooperation of the Market Surveillance Agency of BiH, Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs, Republic Administration for Inspection Affairs and Inspectorate of Brčko District of BiH. 

Objectives of the proactive surveillance were to assess the situation on the market of BiH in terms of safety of buoyant aids for swimming instruction, withdraw the products that could pose a danger to users, enhance consumer safety and raise awareness of manufacturers, importers and distributors on placing safe products on the market.

During the implementation of proactive surveillance, 10 models of buoyant aids for swimming instruction were tested, and it was found that 2 models did not comply with the safety requirements prescribed in the Order on personal protective equipment and the applicable standard.

Economic operators withdrew from the market and destroyed two models of buoyant aids for swimming instruction (total of 74 products).
