PROSAFE (Product Safety Forum of Europe)
PROSAFE (The Product Safety Forum of Europe) is a non-profit professional organisation for market surveillance authorities from throughout the European Economic Area (EEA). Its primary objective is to improve the safety of users of products and services in Europe.
As from 2006, PROSAFE has taken the initiative to coordinate a number of Joint Actions on Harmonised Products (JAHARP), which are co-financed by the EU Commission and involve participation of the market surveillance authorities within the EEA. These projects have been covering more than 21 technical areas of product safety and compliance. The aim of these activities is to remove non-compliant and/or dangerous products from the European Union's single market and support implementation of the Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 on market surveillance and compliance of products.
PROSAFE also coordinates the activities aimed at implementing the energy efficiency projects (EEPLIANT).
In October 2008, Market Surveillance Agency of BiH attained full membership in the PROSAFE General Assembly. The Agency's full membership in PROSAFE enables it to participate actively, as an observer, in joint actions in the field of non-food product safety coordinated by PROSAFE. These activities aim to enhance consumer safety and strengthen the professional knowledge and practical expertise of market surveillance authorities in the EU Member States.
The Agency participated in two joint PROSAFE actions:
1. Food imitations (in the period 2011-2013),
2. Childcare articles (in the period 2012-2014).
PROSAFE published the book Best Practice Techniques in Market Surveillance.
